Classical Performance from the Czech National Symphony Orchestra

They’re historical – they’re grandiose – they’re classical. The Czech National Symphony Orchestra has proven that nothing can keep them from picking up their violin bows and preparing their instruments for a show, even COVID-19. They’ve played throughout the Spring and Summer online through a special series of “.net” performances, and now it’s time to put on your most formal outfit for a night of luxury and top-notch melody. Enjoy a classical performance from the Orchestra at the famous theatre named after the bohemian composer Bedrich Smetana.

3rd: Saturday

Futur Swing Band at Jazz Dock from 19:00.

Contemporary swing music may not have been on the top of your mind, but it should be. The Futur Swing Band are taking to the sea (or atleast the Vltava) with their eclectic bouncy rhythms at the Jazz Dock this week. You can still book a seat at the link above to enjoy the first week of Fall out on the water!

3rd-4th: Saturday-Sunday

Star Wars Marathon at Kino Aero starting at 14:00 on Saturday, and again at 14:00 on Sunday.

Open camera on black space, the only light coming from thousands of glittering stars. Then a sudden swell of music, so abrupt you sit up in your seat, bursts at the same time a stream of bold yellow letters sprawl across the screen. It’s time to relive the best of the best (and sadly the worst of the worst – sorry, Jar Jar) at this Star Wars marathon streaming at the Aero Cinema this weekend. Refute the dark side and enjoy all 6 films while gleefully ignoring the existence of the other three – they’re basically just a mixture of the originals anyways, right?

Designer Open-Air Market in Holeshovice starting at 10:00.

Enjoy perusing through the best of Czech designers outdoors at Forum Karlin. With lines of top-line designers, you can explore a massive variety of fashion styles that the Czech muse has to offer. There will also be food and drink stands to keep you moving while you search for your next outfit.

September 18th – October:

Once Upon A Time, Van Gogh, Monet, Renoir… at Forum Karlin.

Dazzling visuals paired with famous classical piano songs you’ve grown up listening to – and make it multidimensional. That’s Once Upon A Time, an homage of spectacular technological proportions to some of the world’s best painters. Enjoy Monet, Van Gogh, and more in a way you’ve never seen them before – lasting until the end of the month.

All Month:

Sculpture Line Festival spread around Prague.

Open-air festivals are not only safe, but they’re becoming hip (the hipp-iest, no doubt). If you’ve been piqued about any statues along your commutes throughout Prague, now’s the time to discover the entire series spread within the city. The Sculpture Line Festival offers a perfect route to see them all while the weather still holds up, and offers an in-depth look into their origins.
