24 Nov – Adults in the Room directed by Costa-Gavras
This dramatic, biographical film displays the inhumane and uncompassionate treatment by the dictatorship in Greece. After seven years of human tragedy, Greek Minister of Finance Yánis Varoufákis is chosen by Prime Minister Aléxis Tsípras to rescue the country from their debt crisis. Based on the book Adults in the Room: My Battle with Europe’s Deep Establishment by Yanis Varoufakis, this story is a claustrophobic look at the pressure put on the protagonists who need to fix what seems to be an unsolvable problem.

25 Nov– Redoubtable (Le Redoubtable) directed by Michel Hazanavicius
A biographical drama-comedy that takes a modern look at renowned director Jean-Luc Godard’s relationship with both actress Anne Wiazemsky and the 1968 Paris riots, which permanently changed him. Based on the book Un an après by Anne Wiazemsky herself, Redoubtable was even quoted as a “stupid, stupid idea” by Godard. However, director Michel Hazanavicius embraced Godard’s opinion and even put his quote on the film’s posters.
