The October Beer and Food Fest, inspired by Oktoberfest, full of beer and sausages, take place in Pivovar Strahov this Saturday, October 1, 2022. The organizers of the event shared a love for beer and delicious food and could not resist celebrating the event along with their neighbors from Germany.

Swing by Sv. Norbert this Saturday and taste the best of Bavarian cuisine.

Oktoberfest: A quick history lesson

Oktoberfest is the world’s largest beer festival, combined with a traveling carnival, happening in Munich, Bavaria, every year. Sadly, the festival has been canceled for the last two years due to the coronavirus restriction. Yet, this year will be something special, as Oktoberfest organizers in Bavaria promised.

Generally speaking, it lasts approximately 16–18 days, starting mid-September and lasting till the first Sunday of October. Oktoberfest beer is the main character here; everyone drinks it. In fact, 7.7 million liters of beer are served every year.

Visitors can also enjoy other attractions except day drinking—amusement rides, side stalls, and various games. Undoubtedly, a great selection of national cuisine is there for you to have a degustation time—weisswursts, pretzels, and other dishes are awaiting you there.

Oktoberfest in Pivovar Strahov

Pivovar Strahov hosts the October Beer & Food Festival this Saturday, following all the traditions. Visitors can expect exclusive Bavarian cuisine, special Sv. Norbert beers are served in one-liter glasses, an Oktoberfest Bock special brew, Czech spirits, and other delightful surprises.

There will be live music performances during the festival, so you will not get bored.  Enjoy it while drinking your beer in a pint with a delicious weisswurst on the side.

‘The festival will take place whatever the weather is,’ said event organizers. No rain, snowstorm, or unexpected tornado would ruin the festival.

The jolly guests of the event will be Czech breweries that we all love. Falkon, Sibeeria, and Černý potoka will be your beer-addiction sponsors as well as your primary supporters in day drinking.

Admission tickets

There is no entrance fee for the event. “No entrance fee and no reservations are required, so every beer lover can come as they please,” emphasized event representatives.

However, we recommend you arrive early to secure the best spot at the event and enjoy a Saturday full of beer, joy, and relaxation.

Getting here

To get to Pivovar Strahov, take tram 22 to Pohořelec station. From there, it would be a two-minute walk to the location.

You can also drive a car there. However, we do not recommend the drive & drink concept. So better call Uber.

Cheers, and enjoy Oktoberfest!
